SECRET SEEDS 1985 is a tryptich sketch photo collage created from photographs of a cover of a National Geographic from 1983. It is an image of a Wodaabe man of the south Sahara, photographed by Carol Beckwith in 1983. Each section is a separate exposure on color negative film, printed on color C type paper, and mounted onto black museum board. The motion is created with manual camera movements. Unpublished, I created it to work out some ideas and techniques for other projects.


BRYANT PARK SKETCH 1997 is an unrealized analog photo collage from the 90’s Collage era. Typically I am cutting off the sprocket hole edges and taping them to glass to make the final contact print. It is shot with Ilford XP-1 chromogenic B&W film and printed on color c-type paper.

SPRING BREAK SKETCH 1995 is a very preliminary sketch for one of the Kodak Funsaver ad campaign shoots entitled ‘Spring Break’. One of a series of ads created for Kodak thru J. Walter Thompson. They are analog photo collages, all shot with Kodak Funsaver disposable cameras and printed at local one-hour photo labs.

PLANETOID 2003 is a quickie study for a series of early digital collages inspired by satellites and diatoms. Shot with the Canon Powershot G3.
