
CANTICLE FOR GAIA 2017 is a digital photo collage shot with a Nikon D750 and assembled in Photoshop.
PEN FT STUDY 1985 is an analog photo collage shot on color film and enlarged onto chromogenic paper. This is a quick study made while fleshing out some ideas using an Olympus PEN FT half-frame camera. This image is a strip of film with four exposures shot in sequence, using long exposure times to create a painterly blur.
DIPTYCH OPUS 40 1986 is part of a series of simple two-frame panoramas shot in 1986-88. Photographed with an Olympus OM-1 with a specially filed out back to eliminate the spacing between frames on the film. Each diptych is shot ‘live’ in the camera. This image was photographed at the Opus 40 Sculpture Park in Woodstock, NY.
WOODLAWN CEMETERY (solarized) is an early composite panoramic photo collage. It is a contact print of 35MM color negatives printed on chromogenic paper. It is a solarized version of UNTITLED,WOODLAWN CEMETERY – the print is exposed to light briefly during the development.
WIRED 1.1 is a multiple image print created for WIRED magazine issue 1, in 1993. It is a non-digital Cibachrome print, using a mix of transparency & negative film images of the Mona Lisa. Some of the effects and colors were created during the shooting, and the others were created in the enlarger during the printing phase.
OSSORIO 1987 is a panoramic collage portrait of Alfonso Ossorio, photographed on his East Hampton estate (the Creeks) for Avenue Magazine. It is a B&W contact print, shot on Ilford X-P1 film.
