ALEX'S THING (solarized) 1980
ALEX’S THING (solarized) 1980

ALEX’S THING (solarized) is a composite panoramic analog photo collage, printed as a contact sheet from color negatives onto chromogenic paper. It is a solarized version of ALEX’S THING; briefly exposed to light during the print development. Alex’s ‘Thing’ was a 30 foot long pillow created as an art project by the late, great Alex Bonziglia. Extending the full length in each 360 degree panel, using long exposures – you can see me clutching a bulb shutter and looking at my wristwatch to time each 30 second exposure.

POOL, CAPE COD SPHERE 1979-1982
POOL, CAPE COD SPHERE 1979-1982

POOL, CAPE COD SPHERE 1979-1982 is a 3D spherical rendering of POOL, CAPE COD measuring app. 2′ in diameter. It is made of cardboard and chromogenic prints. The original image spans 360 X 360 degrees; this rendering uses the ‘center cut’ of images spanning 360 X 180 degrees. This approach is a precursor to QTVR / 3D Panoramic imaging popular today.
